Winter Tires: Blizzak LM-25 vs Michelin X-Ice Xi2
Hey guys. I need to get a set of winter tires to handle snow/ice this winter on my stock 18" wheels. I have been debating on which to get.
There is a $35 difference per tire at tire rack, but if its worth the cost I will certainly do it. I am not so much concerned with the cost as much as I am about getting around safely whether it snows/hails/ices over.
Thanks as always!

Personally I've been using the Dunlop Graspic the last few years instead of Blizzak. IMHO the Graspic is very comparable to the Blizzak in snow, and vastly superior on dry pavement, which really is what most of your winter driving is. They're much stiffer, and handle a lot better such as on off ramps.

On my MX-5, I had to make the same decision.. Blizzak, Xice and Dunlops.
The opinions I received were that the Blizzaks do have an edge in snow but the Michelins and Dunlops are better in the dry and wet.
I went with the Dunlops and have been pleasantly surprised. The snow performance is excellent.. actually better than my previous Integra with all season Kumhos. I feel very confident driving in snow with them. Road noise and dry performance is still excellent. Stock summer tires are 17" but I run 16's for the snow tires... which gives a little more sidewall to soak up the pot holes.
The opinions were also that the Michelins and Dunlops are very close performance wise.
I also have a set of 18" Dunlops for the RX8 but don't really need them since the snows are on the MX-5.
I did a Tire Rack wheel / tire combo. Good price.
Good luck.
