widest wheel/tire combo

I searched and have not come up with any satisfying results. So, what is the widest tire that people have gotten under the rear of the rx8?

Would it be possible to fit a 305/30/19 under the rear with out pulling the fender (rolling is obvious)? What is the biggest in the front?

thanks

Haha...no one answered him so after 10 posts he jumped ship. So many combinations it's hard to say really.

Was wondering the same thing. Whats the widest I could go with 19x10" rim, front and back. And what would the ideal offset be to fit such a package.

My set-up is listed below (in my signature) on stock suspension, I'm about to install some tein s-tech springs so we will see how that goes. I'm not sure of the offset details.

Isn't this a sticky yet?

This question gets asked twice a week.

You can get 275's. Problem is wheel size and offset.

I've heard and seen 285's. Here's the catch is it drivable?

Yeah, mine functions fine...if I hit a big bump or have 3 people in the car it will rub, I'm going to experiment this evening. I think the tire is rubbing on a piece of plastic that hangs down from the wheel well. I'm guessing it prevents debrit from going up and under the rear bumper. I'm going to remove those this evening and see, it usually only happens on the passanger rear.

I've got 285/30/19s on a 9.5" rim with no fender rolling at the rear. 245/35/19s on 8.5" up front, they seem to be as close as possible to the fender without rubbing, when at maximum turn angel. At first the rears rubbed on big bumps, but a little heat and some bending action on some of that black plastic stuff inside the fender got rid of it for good. This is at stock height btw.
