Who makes MS's Coilovers?

Just wondering, does anybody know who makes the coilovers for MazdaSpeed?

Tokico makes the shocks if I'm not mistaken. Not sure who makes the springs, I am running them though and they're not bad

MS has new adjustable coilovers. I believe these are what he means.

I wondered who makes the new ones myself. The stock and MS struts are made by Tokico and the MS springs are by Eibach. No idea on the adjustable.

If you're referring to the new threaded coilover kit, it's supplied by Eibach

Wow, I didn't know the MS springs were Eibach. I guess they are MS spec though since the Eibach prokit lowers more than .8" and I don't think the rates are as high. Does anyone know if the MS springs are progressive? I compared the stock and MS when I installed them and the stock actually felt stiffer when you press down.

MS springs are progressive, and made by Eibach. MS coilover kit is also made by Eibach. Specific valving is chosen by MS engineers though, and differ from the Eibach coil-over kit. I have this on good authority from Eibach themselves. I didn't know about the shock bodies being made by Tokico, but that wouldn't suprise me if they were.

They're made by Eiback to Mazdaspeed's specifications.

They're progressive and stiffer than OE

Interesting, I couldn't find any info on the web that stated the springs had progressive rates. I'm very happy with the MS spring and Koni combo though, the car is very balanced neutral with very little body movmenet.

If I get MS's coilover, where can I change the settings?

Cuz I know some of the coilovers out there have to do the settings on the top of the shocks. which is a pain in the *** for our car. (Have to take it down EVERYTIME I want to change something? Hell no)

I know Tokico has some and they have the extension cord for this job. Is there such a thing on the MS setup ?

I just had my MS coilovers installed so I can comment on that...

For the rears, there is a click dial on the bottom part of the shock where you can adjust it. On the fronts, you have to take off the front strut tower bar and use a dial **** to adjust. Or, do it like me and order s strut bar that lets you see the top of the shock...

I had my MS coilovers installed today...

I have the height settings all the way down. I was expecting it to drop even more but I guess that is good. It might be perception but the front looks little higher than the rear, doesn't it?

I have front and back settings in the middle with a little more stiffer setting on the back. So far, it feels good. I could say same or softer than stock. Once I have the front and back MS sway bars installed tomorrow I will be able to give a better report on the street feel. I am heading back to the track on early March....

Very nice, the drop looks almost exactly the same as mine with the MS springs/Konis. I'm surprised that the stiffness is about the same or softer than stock at the middle setting though. On the middle setting of the Konis it's considerably stiffer than stock. By the way how much did the parts cost? And don't forget to get an alignment in a few weeks.

Ok, so I now have the MS coilovers and MS sway bars installed...

Well, let me begin by saying that the standard suspension setup on the RX-8 is really not bad. The compress/rebound setting was a little soft and there is a little body roll (both for my driving style) but it is not that bad...

After I had the MS' coilovers and the MS' sway-bars installed I went for a spirited driving / test afternoon. Well... I think I will sound very dumb by saying this but, I really don't think I can tell there was much difference... at least not from street driving. I know the big test will be the next track day that I have coming up in early March but I was -somehow- expecting a more dramatic change on the street... right now I am running on 6 "clicks" out of 7 on the rear and on 6 "turns" out of 12 on the front... and I can't say I feel the suspension -that- stiff... I think I will set it for all max on the rear and leave the front one turn less from max... if I can't feel any differences there has to be something wrong with me...

Can somebody else running MS coilovers + MS sway-bars chime in here... did you feel much difference on the street in terms on suspension stiffness and body roll?

dump the MS bars, they're barely stiffer than the OE bars

see my stiffy thread in this suspension forum

also crank the front shocks to full stiff

I would go full stiff on the front first, but there's no harm in doing them both just to see what the extreme is

Sorry I didn't see this answered, these aren't independantly DA right jsut one adjustment **** for compression and rebound?

Also not to hijack but I'm currently going with KW Variant 3s and have a question about progressive springs. When someone says that a Progressive Rate Spring has a rate does that mean taht the inital rate is like 150 then then max is 420 and the average rate is 285?
