ok who in here have ebay brakes, like the drilled ones with hawk pads. If not any ebay brakes will do. few questions
how long have they been on the car
quality?
performance? (commonly answered on most of the threads, but still would like opinion)
and seller from ebay.

im really tempted to buy some from ebay user...rotorpros....
4 rotors+4 hawk pads...but from reading other threads, im kinda scared, im just a daily driver, back and forth to school...

yes the stock ones are good, unfortunately i have about 5% on pads and have no local dealer to buy any rotors from, except, the dealership. they would probly charge the same as the performance ones. autozone and advance, have to order pads too. i just need pads, cause idk when to change rotors, seems like i might as well get the package and changed them all at once.

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket go for it. Otherwise, just keep with the stockers, plus who says you have to change your rotors? Brake pads are not cheap, but why spend money that you don't have to?

this is a pretty good example of why alot of people don't bother posting or asking questions. he said in the last line of his first post that it's just a back-and-forth-to-school car. he probably got pulled onto the train of "drilled brakes are better than anything" and wanted to know how ebay ones will work. i've been there before, but since i have an associate's degree in auto technology now i know better. i'm not sure on the cost of stock rotors, but i would not buy drilled rotors on ebay unless i was POSITIVE they were a reliable brand. not to knock ebay, i purchased EBC slotted/dimpled rotors on there and they were great. for daily driving, i'd look into just sticking with oem rotors. if you want them just for the looks, go with ebc or powerslot. they usually arent the most expensive brands, and in my experience they hold up.

we bought the car used 44k, i could see that the pads needs to be replaced...
lol no track days. it's 2004, daily driven, to school and country roads...as of right now i think almost positive i have stock rotors or pads....

thanks! im actually thinking of just buying the ebc greenstuff, i have read on here though that they eat the rotors up fast...lol damn i guess i can't avoid it! anyways, my next question is, how do i know if i need new rotors?

relax swoope, i wasnt calling you a bad guy. if someone asks a somewhat stupid question or gets caught in a stupid mindset like drilled rotors are better then they probably don't know alot about cars. or the different uses for different aftermarket parts. granted, some ?s are more ignorant than others, but i guess everyone starts somewhere. some just further behind than others.

as for getting new rotors-for a daily driver, dont bother. however, take your rotors to a machine shop or some place like pep boys/meineke or something and have your rotors cut/machined/resurfaced, whatever you want to call it. this gives your new pads a clean surface to bed into, and prevents the new pads from glazing on a warped rotor. alot of times you dont really need it, but its not too expensive and worth it to not wreck new pads.

Here is an answer to all you questions: Don't buy EBay rotors if you are unsure of the qualitly.

Since you mentioned you are a student, I assume money is tight (I was in the same boat). But you don't want to skimp on brakes. Crappy-made Ebay junk *can* wrap and crack, especially drilled rotors. I'm NOT saying ALL ebay rotors will do so, but they are more prone to do so than name-brand rotors from say, Brembo or RacingBrake.

My advise would be to save your money and buy some new brake pads (I like the Hawk HPS pads). If your rotors are in rough shape, take them to Midas where they can turn them for you for a lot cheaper than the cost of new rotors.

is there a diff in sport suspention and normal suspensions on brake pads? or is that just for rotors.....i have found some sites asking my suspension model and others saying "fits all submodels"? i know i have sportsuspension...i have read a thread on here where someone said they bought______their brake parts, but it was too small and i can't recall whether he said rotors or pads and i can't find that thread.
