Question Who has the LOWEST 8?

Has anyone lower their 8 greater than 1.5 - 2 inchese with just springs? If so, how low? How's the ride quality?

How about anyone lowering their 8 more than 1.5 - 2 inches with coilovers? How's the ride quality then?

I'm thinking of upgrading my Eibach Pros to a different set of Springs, or perhaps Coilovers, but I want to get some feedback from some of you who have already done this.

Thanks in advance! :D

Well, I agree that Lower is not Better. But I just want to lower a tad more than what I have now. I have the Eibachs for about 2 months now and it settled to about 1.3-1.4 inches, approx. There is about 1/2 finger gap in the back and about 1 1/2 finger gap in the front. I want to shoot for 2 inches if possible. The mechanics at the local alignment shop said by estimate, the 8 has enough camber adjustment to go up to 2 inches of lowering.

When I had my JIC's put on I had it all the way LOW for a day WAY too low for daily driving -- hit the exhaust guard pulling out of my driveway. Fun for a day but not good for actual driving. Have it lowered about 1.5 in front and 1.0 in back right now.

OOh, Husker, that's exactly what I'm thinking of doing! Care to comment on how the handling is with the differing drops? Puh-lease?

Troy J.
I got them from Huff at Vivid whom I recommend highly -- have made several purchases from Vivid and all have been excellent. I won't quote the price here on the board -- it was less than their website lists -- PM me and I will share the details.

Very different car how I have it set right now -- 1.5" drop front and 1.0" drop in rear -- looks MUCH better IMO. I have the stiffness set at 3 clicks from softest. Rides much more like you would expect from a sports car now. Body roll is gone -- really sticks the corners now -- I am amazed when I take corners at high speed -- the rear end is literally planted to the pavement -- the control is fantastic. There is somewhat more road noise and bumps with the coilovers -- at softest the "comfort" is very close to stock and you don't really notice the coilovers til you hit a major bump or speed bump -- then you really feel the stiffness. From a handling performance perspective the coilovers are awesome. From a comfort perspective the coilovers are a concern -- Don't get the coilovers if you think the stock ride is stiff. I like to take corners at speed -- probably won't do much track time but like to play and have fun and find twisties more my style than high speed racing -- for this the coilovers are a necessity IMO -- you will be able to do things you didn't even think about before.

With drops all the way down I also cranked the stiffness settings to 10 clicks from softest (15 is max.) The car was not really driveable on the streets (at least in Omaha in the winter) at these settings. Hitting a pothole would have created serious damage (IMO) fortunately I didn't have to find out. I got in my driveway/garage but had serious problems getting out -- not enough ground clearance. Was fun for a few miles but then grew tiring -- too bouncey and had to really look out for road damage, etc. -- drove like what I would expect a true racecar to feel like. The rear fender was literally at the rim -- couldn't see any rubber.

Great Feedback RXHusker. I will now reconsider dropping the car to 2 inches. Wish I had Coilovers to play with.

Thanks again!
