Wheel Size Conversion
I was on tirerack.com and the recommended tire size for the rims I may get is 245-30/20. I know little to nothing about tires, but I am thinking about getting them here in Korea because I can get them cheaper. My question is: are the size or tires universal? If not would it be possiable for some one to translate the above size to metric or what ever scale is used? Thanks in advance.

i am going to assume that your stock wheel/tire package is the 18's, which is 225/45-18.
this equates to 25.97244 inches in diameter.
the 20's you are looking at will be 25.787401 inches in diameter. net difference is about 2 tenths of an inch. these will work fine for your application.

I am getting 20' rims thats why I am looking at the tires. My question is can I go into the korean tire store and say I need 245-30/20? or do I have to say something else?

Not sure if you know what the figures mean, so I will explain.
for 245/30/20 you have
225 is the width of the tyre
30 is the profile of the tyre (or the heoght from the rim to the part of the tyre that touches the road)
20 is the size of the Rim that the tyres will fit onto
These measurements are as far as I am aware unoversal in all countries. I have been to the 1/2 dozen countries in Asia, same in europe, the US and of course Australia.
So in short I would say you could use these measuments.
