Post wheel info "must see"

Has anyone heard of having wider rims for more "power to the wheel" ratio? what I mean is I have a friend (who I feel doesn't know ****) says "more power", wider rims/tires" anyone know for sure.

yea, the wider your rims and tires, the more power you get to the ground!! If you go wide enough you can even get 99% of your flywheel hp number to wheel hp numbers!!"

on a more serious note, slap your friend with open fingers and then closed fingers to see which has more power to slap ratio. ^_^

I'm going to give you friend the benefit of the doubt... and assume he's saying that if you have too much power for current rims, that larger will do better (assuming you get properly fitted tires as well). You arent going to see a huge performance gain (none at all honestly) if your car is stock.

you should definitely get wider tires if you have 400hp. 275/40/18 would probably be a good pick.

if you do any racing (besides drag) or tracking, i'd get the same width tire up front as well.
