#1 read my post about the tire/rim warranty. Good or Bad?

#2 tire rotation, at how many miles for max use?

 

I notice the car is equiped with directional tires. Is this mean we don't need to rotate the tire? Perhaps only from front to back, then go to shop for diagonal switch?

 

yeah, the tyres need to be "flipped" out-side-wall inwards for the FR to work on the RL.

 

Directional simply means that you have to rotate tires from front to back, they can't be done side to side.

 

You always need to rotate tires. According to the manual, it's done every 7500 miles front to back and back to front. That's it, no diagonal rotation.

 

When mine gets here, I'll rotate every 3k miles, doing it myself as I do with my Miata. The OEM Bridgestones are NOT the best tires IMHO. They are 140 rated for mileage, "A" for traction, the same as the OEMs that came with my '02 Miata. Those tires, after four autox's and 11.5k miles were done, even with regular rotations, front to back, of course.
As with the Miata, I can't wait until the OEMs are shot so I can replace them with something far better like the 030 'stones. I put Yoko ES100s on the Miata. They were $20 cheaper than the OEMs and are 280 rated for mileage, AA for traction. I don't really understand why Mazda puts these 140/A rated tires on their sports cars. The ones used aren't cheap and far better are available for less costs. MHO!

 

Darn, I always like do thing myself. Guess I will have to live with Front & Back rotation until they wear out then put a better set on.

 

Sorry for my ignorance, but what kinda of mileage should I expect from these OEM tires? I've heard 20k miles is the best I will get. I've heard they are pretty expensive; anyone know where to get the best price for replacements?
