Want your stock wheels chromed?

Just noticed this on eBay... Capital Wheels seems to be chroming the stock wheels for $600. Thought some of you might be interested... I know I am! :D

Capital did mine for me. So far, so good.

I was waiting until they refunded me my core charge, then I would give them some free press here on the forum. For those who haven't seen them yet, here's how mine came out.

How much heavier does that make your wheel. I think it looks pretty good, but I have it stuck in my head that chrome=heavy.

Now that you mention it, I should've weighed them before I put them on, but I didn't. They are awfully light, though. I one-handed them out of the box with no problem, and I'm no Charles Atlas. :D

I'd say they are comparable in weight to stock, due to the fact that they strip off all the paint and primer before chroming them. If anything, maybe 1/2 lb heavier. I can't feel any difference in acceleration.

Just an update for those considering Capital. My wheels are doing good, but it took 2 1/2 weeks for me to recieve my core charge refund, and I only finally got it due to my hassling them.

I called several times, and was told each time that my wheels had been recieved, and the check would be sent soon. Yesterday, I finally told them to quit dragging their feet and send my check. The girl was a little irritated, and told me "your wheels aren't the only ones we're handling". I asked for the check to be overnighted, since every other time it was "getting ready to go out", I never recieved it. The check DID arrive today, Fedex overnight, but they deducted the overnight fee from the $700. Boo.

Great wheels, but customer service was pants. If you aren't returning your wheels, or don't need to pay a core, (meaning your car will be down for 8-10 days while your wheels go to them, then theirs come to you) then go for it.

If a core is involved, be prepared to wait for it. B-
