Velox wheels

For people who have heard about this brand or for people who sell wheels for a living...... i'd like to hear some input from you guys on Velox wheels...

I know they are quite reputable.... but are they good quality wheels?

These wheels are what im eyeing for my black 8....
i cant afford the gorgeous black SF challenges like the other thread.. but i can afford these and i think theyre hot too...

18" Hyperblack Velox Vx8 with polished lip

its a 18x7.5 wheel.... dont know the offset tho..

anyone know if it'll fit the 8?

Thanks

I'm sorry to hijack your thread, but why the 7.5 choice when the stock are 8?

Well they only come in 7.5 on a 18" so...

does this mean the wheels will be more "in" to the fender? wont stick out as much?

No, the offset has more to do with the wheel "sticking out." That is a valid point about them only being 7.5" wide though. I'd stick with 8" or 8.5" wide. You see that wheel was made in that size with smaller cars in mind. It would be a good fit a something like a Civic or maybe a Beetle (just examples). Some people may wanna put 18's on those cars and lower them as well. That's tough to do using a wheel that's 8" or 8.5" wide, so some wheel manufacturers make that 18 x 7.5 to accomodate them.

The RX8 has plenty of fender well clearance so keep seaching for a wheel that's 8" or 8.5." BTW, that is a good looking wheel.

not for nothing but those wheels would look nice on a blk or red 8
maybe 19 though but what ever floats your boat
as for offset im sure/positive with those wheels
your offset wont look ugly on a 8. im thinking maybe 36

Well, I'll explain it the best that I can. If you were measuring from the center of a wheel (width wise) outward to the mounting location (where the center bore and stud holes are) that would represent the offset (in millimeters).

For example, if a wheel has a +10 mm offset, then the mounting surface of the wheel is 10 mm outward (toward the front) from the center of the wheel (width wise).

If a wheel has a negative offset, such as -10 mm, then the wheel's mounting surface is spaced back further from the center of the wheel, thus allowing a wheel to "stick out." this is commonly known as a "reverse" offset.

I don't know if my explanation helps, but I tried.

Here is a nice tool that will help you figure out how much any other wheel that is not the stock offset and/or diameter sticks out or is pulled in by the difference in size. It's an offset calculator.
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

For instance, if your stock wheel is an 18" rim and has a 45mm offset and you want to go with a 19" wheel that has a 40mm offset, this is the result: Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 8mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 18mm
