TPMS works! But too bad I had to find out :(

A few days ago I left for work when the TPMS started screaming at me. I went to a gas station to get a messuring thingy, I nailed it down to the front-right tire but left it as-is.

So I went to work and on my way back, I noticed how uncomfortable it feels to drive fast (whoooshy on the road, like driving on butter), so I stopped and checked if I had equipment for the re-fill.

Fortunally, the RX-8 comes with equipment. So I refilled it and thought it'd be fine.

2 days later (this morning) the TPMS was on again. I had to refill the front-right one again so... it's definatly leaking 35% presure during a night.

How do I solve this? So far I have not found a nail or anything. Am I safe to drive like this to work until I have replacement? Our roads in Hawaii are not the best and I don't want to push it.

Do I try the tire repair kit and see if it does the trick? Or should I just get a new tire (the exact same one) - how much would that run me because they have to pull it on my rim, right? So.... Or should I maybe get a whole new set? It'll be ackward to have a 3.1 system (3 old, 1 new).

If I could, I'd hold out for another 6 month and get a set of rims + tires (want Racinghearts but don't have the money yet). But that might be pushing it, I'm close to 6000 miles with the originally equiped ones.

Any help is greatly appreciated

go to yor local tire shop, don't mess up your tire by putting all that gink in it. that kit is specifically tehre for roadside emergency use only. go to a shop!

that's actually an pretty good idea, lol.

I don't know of any shops in hawaii (I'm kind of new here) but I'll have a look around.

Ah, this sucks so much. The car not even a half year old and I'm already having repairs left and right.

I guess I just have bad luck. Just as the clumb of tar that's on my roof that I can't get off. Wish I knew where that **** came from

pull the rim off and fill a metal tub with water..and rotate the tire in it to see where your leak is coming from...sounds like you have a loose TPMS sensor and it's slowly coming out around the collar..

you know what?

I went to a shop, repairing cost me 10.40 USD.

The little barcode that is on the tire caused the leak. Doh!
