TPMS question/dilemma

I just put my stock wheels back on after having some aftermarket ones on there for a while. When i had the aftermarket wheels mounted and balanced, they rebuilt my TPMS to make it work with my new setup. Does that mean that they took the sensors out of my stock wheels and put them in the aftermarket ones? How does that work exactly?

Now that I put my stock wheels back on, the TPMS light is always on, and the tires are all at 38psi consistently.

Unless you paid for an extra set of TPMS sensors they most likely took the ones from the OEM rims and placed them in the aftermarket ones. Take a look at the valve stems on your stock wheels. If they are the standard rubber ones you do not have TPMS.

What would be the best way to get the TPMS light to go away if you do not have the sensors anymore?

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-cover-tpms-light-47499/ I'm serious, there is no proven way to turn the light off.

There is someone selling a set here, use the sticker until its time for new tires.

actually what I saw on a VW forum that might work (and a genius idea it is and why nobody here has done it yet) is that if you take out the stock sensors (or get another set) and build a pressure chamber out of PVC piping. Sealed with caps on both ends and add a valve stem. You throw the sensors inside, seal the ends and pressurize the chamber to ~32 psi. Now throw the pressurized unit in the trunk (for sensor proximity) and your TMPS in dash light woes are solved?

Your sensors may be in your aftermarket wheels like this thread shows: Finally, TPMS Solution for Multi-piece wheels (maybe others)
