TPMS - I Like it!

It seems that I may be in the minority here, but I like the TPMS - if only that he has made me very conscious of my tire pressure. Previously, I had always been very lazy with my tire pressure. But the TPMS has really made me much more aware to check my pressure regularly.

A few weeks back, I had snow tires installed on the the stock rims. It had been very cold here in NY and TPMS adjusted to the tires without any problem: no light!
1 week later, my TPMS light suprisingly went on. I checked and was shocked to discover that one rear tire had approx 14lbs less pressure than the others. I never would have noticed this by eye.

Since then, I've kept an eye on my tires and have noticed that the one particular tire seems to be losing about 1 lb per day. Therefore, I'm going to go back to my installer and have him check on the tire/mount. But I seriously doubt that I would have even noticed this situation without the TPMS.

I know that some people complain that their TPMS light is on in the cold but I'm more inclined to think that if they checked their tires cold, they would probably find that one or moretires ARE low on pressure.

I like mine just fine too! I've never seen the TPMS light come on though ........ at least you know yours works . Do you run your snow tires at 36 psi as recommended?

I've been running them at 33psi. I've read that some people are running at 36 - not really sure what the advantages vs disadvantages are; maybe someone could explain.
However, 33psi seems OK

I use 36 PSI because: The RX-8 Owner's Manual on page 4-9 says to use 4.3 PSI more than what's on the tire pressure label on the driver's side door jam (summer tire pressure = 32 PSI) for snow tires. Also Tire Rack suggested I use 36 PSI for my Dunlop Winter Sport M3 snow tires when I asked them.
