So I was all ready to buy the Koni yellows, but now I'm considering the Tokico's for the easy rear adjustability (with the adjustment extensions). With the Koni shocks, I know that the RX-8 will sit a little lower on whatever springs you have, than if you just had them paired with the stock shocks. I didn't want to go too low, and the Konis seemed to lower just a bit more with the H-techs, which looks perfect for me. Does anyone know if the Tokicos do the same?

I plan on getting the D Specs myself, because of the same reason the OP mentioned...easy access the the rear adjuster. My question for the OP, is why are you going with the H Techs? The S Techs have a much higher spring rate and would compliment the D Specs better.

Well first, the spring rate difference between the H-tech and S-tech doesn't seem to be THAT significant:

Tein S 207(F) 145(R)
Tein H 179(F) 129(R)

Also, I've seen pics of S-tech springs installed on cars with Konis and the car seems way too low for my liking. I have the MS sideskirts and with the stock height it's already pretty low on the sides. The H-techs by themselves seem to hardly lower the car at all, but paired with the Konis, the car seems to drop a bit more... and this seems like a good ride height for me. The spring rate didn't concern me too much, and I was mainly concerned with getting a good shock to handle whatever spring I chose to install. I'm hoping the Tokicos make the car sit a little lower like the Konis.

Lurch, thanks for the pic, although I don't really have a comparison to Eibachs installed without the Tokicos. Yours looks pretty low though.

I've compared several Koni-equipped RX-8s with my D-Spec car, all on stock springs, and could not detect a difference in ride height using the "fingers between the top of the tire and bottom of the wheel-well" approach. So, if the Konis do drop the car, then the D-Specs do roughly the same.

The shocks do not have any influence on the ride height of the car, at least they shouldn't! The springs are responsible for holding the weight of the car, not the shocks (they just dampen suspension movement). Any differences in ride height between same spring/different shocks probably due to other minor things.

P.S. I have the D-specs and I love them! It's definitely convenient to able to adjust the shocks easily, especially when putting on different tires or trying to fine-tune the handling balance at the track.
