Tirerack.com Road Hazard Protection? Experiences? Worth it?
I was looking at buying a set of four tires from Tireack and the Road Hazard Program Warranty would be $45.60 for the four tires.
Basically it is:
# Tires are covered for 36 months from the date of purchase or until 2/32" or less of tread remains, whichever occurs first.
# Repairs are reimbursed up to $25 per tire per occurrence.
# During the first 12 months, you will be reimbursed for 100% of the original cost of the tire covered by the Tire Road Hazard Service Program, subject to the limitations set forth in the Program Certificate. Beyond the first 12 months, the reimbursable amount is calculated by a proration of elapsed time, not to exceed 36 months.

Is it worth it? Any experiences, good or bad?
Thanks!

I bought a set of tires for my wife's car from tire rack. When I asked about the road hazard guarantee, the salesman was modestly surprised that I was interested, and pretty much indicated that it wasn't worth it.
That was really refreshing, especially thinking about the service contract pitch you get with every visit to Circuit City or Radio Snack.
You should think back on how often you get flat tires. I tend to average one every 10 or 20 years per car.
