tire of winter on a RX8

Hello,
To start, please excuse my bad English.
I am Swiss. Could somebody say to me which is the minimal dimension for the tire of winter on a RX8 240 CV with the large discs of brakes?

This tire is available for winter driving in an RX-8 with 18" wheels:

Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 (Winter)
Size:225/45-18
VR Speed Rated Price: $215

Hope this helps. There may be other brands such as Michlein in Europe.

Ben, you might want to stay tuned to the "Winter tire group buy" in the Canada forum.

We are going to find out if 16" rims will fit on the car. Failing that we will go with 17" and a tire that is probably 215/55/17 that would be the same dimension of the 18 stock tires with the big breaks.
