For semi useable street tires (decent life) but still higher performance than the RE040's you want to look at Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions, or Michelin Pilot Sports. If you intend to do only autocross, or don't care about tire life (3K miles) look at the Nitto 555R's or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.

I have found that Toyo Proxes make for an excellent compromise between track (road courses) and street tire. They're soft enough that they have good grip ( for a non R-compound tire) and do well on wet roads, but they don't "chunk" under hard track use.
But that depends on if you want that, or an even stickier R-compound street tire. The R-compound tires will wear out pretty quickly, but you can get some in decent tread patterns so that they are okay in the rain. Toyo has a set, and some of the other manufacturers do too.
