How often do you guys fill up your tires? The reason I ask is because my TPMS light has come on twice in about 4k miles and I'm not sure if that's normal.. doesn't seem like it to me. The tires are Pirelli P-Zeros.

You should be checking your tire pressure at least once a month...don't rely on the TPMS. It's there to let you know if you have a slow leak or something like that. Also, remember that tire temperature will have a large effect on the reading you get. Always check the pressure of cold tires and fill to the manufacturer's spec.

you need to check your tire at lease twice a month and when the weather change. if you got 34 psi in summer time, you will only get 28-30 psi in the winter. specially if you get snow in your area. keeping tire pressure can save a lot of tires.

Just check the pressure and the right rear tire had somehow dropped to 22 (!) PSI. I'm thinking there must be a slow leak, because all the other tires were holding fine at 32 PSI...

did you just change tires, because if you do it is a installation problem, if not you it is cause by a nail. Use soap and water is easy to find leaks.

I had them installed at the dealer a couple months back, so I'm pretty sure it must be caused by a nail or something. You said to use soap and water to find the leak? I'm not sure I understand.. could you please explain the process to me?

actually its easier to use the tub method to check the tire. take wheel off car. fill tub (make sure its large enough for at least the whole sidewall to be covered with water. submerge tire into water, slowly rotate looking for airbubbles. if you find air bubbles, you have a leak

Actually lol, upon doing a visual inspection of the tires i've a found a pretty big piece of gravel that has been wedged into the tire. I'm pretty sure this where the leak is... after 2 days I lost abou 2 psi again so the leak is slow at least. I guess that's what I get for using such soft tires in LA ):

some people don't know how to install 18's so they rip the lip of the tire that is why it is not sealing the air. use a few drop of soap mix it with a bottle of water and spray it on the tire, around the lip where the rim and tire meet and also the valve stemp. those are the area where it could cause the leak.
also by using soap and water you don't have to take off the rim and fill you bath tub with water and make dirty you carpet inside the house, just jack up the coner where the leaking tire is. spray and watch if there is any bibbles.

Every 5-6 days for one of mine . Rim's bent and it leaks a little. New wheels and tires on the way though. Normally I only had to fill them twice a year, when winter came around.
