tein s techs on stock shocks

hey guys.. i recently bought some tein s techs to lower my 8. i've read some threads on here that many have this same set up with tein s on oem shocks while others recommend aftermarket ones. after researching tokico d spec grabbed my attention. i need some recommendations... should i go ahead and install them on oems. i can't stand the giant wheel gap anymore but at the same time i want to install them myself and don't want to waste my time if i do decide to buy shocks and do it all over again. i'm broke now so it'll have to be a while for those tokicos lol...

i don't drive that hard btw and i never track. what are some of your set ups and recommendation?

i have original oem shocks 2004 with about 39000 miles

Let's do a run down:
You can't stand the appearance of the stock height on the front, so you bought drop springs.
You read that some have the tiens on OEM and others recommend D Specs.
You don't have the funds to pay for new struts and still can't stand the stock height.

Your answer:
Just install it, besides, you want to do the work yourself... You've set your mind into the task you'll have to do, don't complicate yourself!!!

Addendum, search: How to Preload.

I have them on the stock shocks. It works, so go ahead. The long term issue may be the shocks wear faster. Tein says they're compatible with stockers, but talking to a suspension shop, they said they'd wear down faster. Maybe it's two years down the road, but replacing them with D Specs will probably only give you better handling.

By the way, the ride difference isn't that much from stock. A little stiffer, but it handles better. D-Spec or Koni Yellows probably would make it better.

I too have Tein S on stock shocks. I was really hoping to wait until I could buy new shocks, but I have too many family-related expenses coming up, so I went and installed the springs.

And yes, it's true that they will wear faster. Does that mean they'll fail next week? Next month? Ten years from now? Who knows... I'll deal with that when the time comes.
