James,
I installed Monoflex around Christmas and I really like them, but they aren't cheap. I was on Koni Yellows on stock springs for a while. They were a noticeable step up from the stock dampers, and the Monoflex were a big step up from the Konis. I have never driven tein basic or flex, so I can't judge the difference between them and the monoflex.
I used the konis at the track, 6 days at Watkins Glen and they worked very, very well. The damping quality is very good. I wanted a stiffer setup and I wanted to try mono tubes and the teins seemed a good way to go. I haven't had an opportunity to try them at the track yet, hoping to get to Willow Spring in the next month.
Damping on the street is very good. I was surprised how supple the ride is with the high spring rates. But they are still stiff on the road and rough roads are still rough.
I would imagine that the basic and flex are similar to koni yellows. I have a miata with konis and 500/300lb springs and it works well at auto-x and at the track. Less compliant on the street, but the balance at the limit is very good and they control the springs and tires very well. I figured the basic and flex would be similar quality damping to the konis, so I didn't consider them, I was only interested in trying monotubes.
Again, I still need to try the monoflex at the track, but I am pretty sure I will be happy with them. Hope this helps.
