anyone with this set of spring? i'm planning on getting the tein h-tech just to get rid of the wheel gap without having a suspension that is too stiff or uncomfortable for daily driving. is it very close to the stock feel?

H-Techs are designed with a luxury ride in mind. It should be very comfortable with an aggressive look to it. Some people think they're more comfortable then stock.

If you want a good drop and want to keep the stock feel, look into the Tanabe NF springs.

I went with the Tein-S techs, but think they are a little too stiff for me since I would rather have a more comfortable ride than a sportier ride.

If I were to do it again, I'd probably go with the Tanabes.

and is it true that the tanabe NF might shorten the life of my stock shocks?

Arrow Re:

Same could be said for the H-Techs, just not as fast as the Tanabes. Anytime you get stiffer springs than stock, the struts will wear out quicker, how much quicker depends on how much stiffer the new springs are.

the tanabe's lower more, especially in the rear. giving more chance of hitting the bumpstop upon rebound.

^yep, that's what i'm concerned about, too. roads here aren't very smooth aside from the many bumps.

I think the H-Tech is the best compromise between comfort and performance. I use them paired with Koni dampers for my street/track car and I'm very impressed with the comfort, yet the car performs very well.

If you are looking to get rid of the wheels gap, get the s-techs. They are almost the same spring rate as the stock, but about an inch lower. (there have been MANY discussions here about spring rates, so lets not start that arguemet in this thread) I have seen h-techs on an RX8, and it looked completely stock. If you want to look stock, with a stock ride . . . . get stock springs. If you want to look a little lower, get the s-techs

I would argue that the H-Tech does lower the car enough so that it is noticeable (if that's something you value). It's not a slammed look, but there is a sportier stance. Definately not stock looking IMO.

ok, i just found out that the eibach pro springs have almost the same stiffness as the tien h-techs plus it gives a little more noticeable drop. i'll probably get the eibach pro kit instead. just gotta find a good quote on this.
