Tanabe Sway VS. Mazdaspeed Sway

Hey guys,

Just wondering about the performance of the tanabe front and rear sway bars. Theyre about 50 bucks cheaper then the mazdaspeed sways on rx8garage.com.

Is this price differential because they arnt as good? Or is it because the MS bars are genuine mazda, and thus overpriced.

Does anyone have the tanabe's installed?

Maybe run a search under member name Alex Cisneros (sp?).

I think he's a big Tanabe fan.

Or check the Flordia forum. I believe he's heavily involved in Auto'x as well.

I'm installing the front Tanabe sway bar this Saturday. From what I read, it is a good compromise if keeping the stock shocks and springs. Also good is you change the springs to Tanabe or Teins. The MS works best if you change all three components to MS.
The tower/strut bar from MS is great though by itself. Helps a lot with brake feel and stiffens nice the front end.

If I remember, don't you have to remove the engine cover with the front sway bar?

Applies to the RB bar also?

^^^
You must be thinking of a strut brace, not a front sway bar?

The struts are on top of the engine. The sway bars are on the bottom of the car.

You can cut out a spot for the Strut bar on the engine cover.for some manufacturers of strut bars.

Racing Beat?

The answer to that question is TOO obvious! :D

Seriously, the Racing Beat site lists 'RX7 Specialties' in Calgary as their Canukian dealer, if you phone , ask how much for TWO sets, if the price is good, we could do a mini group-buy! :p

Got the Tanabe sway installed with a lot of help from Kel
The steering feel is awesome, the car feels very tight now and the smallest turn in steering goes to the wheels pronto. Very interesting....
I assume RB one feels the same - the one I have is so much heavier/sturdier than the stock, can hardly imagine what the RB one can bring extra to the game.
I bought the Tanabe because it is a dark blue metalic color, while the RB is simply red It did get scratched a little though - good luck with the instal, it is very tricky....

I'm very happy with the Tanabe Bar.

I've driven an RX8 with the RB, but not the MS bar. While I can't speak for the MS bar, I'd take the Tanabe bar any time.

couple hours with a 5 front, 2 rear- difficulty. fronts were a little tricky but if you stick with it and rotate it around you will feed it through. no biggy.
