Tanabe Spring(s) Question's
Hey all, I have searched and could not find any threads with pic's of RX-8's lowered on Tanabe Spring's.
I'm looking into DF210 and PRO210 I was reading on there web site;
All that sounds great and all but, my real questions are how has anyone tryed them out? Got pics? Any Feed back? How are the Springs stiff? I'm looking for low and stiff for taking them turns.
Thanks,
-Gil
I'm looking into DF210 and PRO210 I was reading on there web site;
The DF210 coil spring offers a large drop, while retaining superb ride quality characteristics. The spring rate is raised 10-15% to compensate for the shortened amount of suspension travel, without over stiffening the spring rate and affecting ride quality and shock lifespan.
The DF210 is unique in that it provides an excellent range of benefits, from it's extremely low stance, to performance and comfort. Overall, the DF210 is extremely well balanced for those looking to lower their car, increase handling potential, and comfort.
For those who want the lowest drop.
Drops of up to 2.5" are available
Spring rate is raised no more than 10-15%
Lower Center of Gravity
Sustec 210 Technology: DF210 Lowdown Spring
All of our coil springs feature SUSTEC 210 Technology. Sustec 210 Technology is a series of manufacturing methods developed to create a stronger, thinner, and lighter spring using only high tensile steel, without adding additional elements that could affect quality, durability, or price. "210" stands for 2100n/m of tensile strength, which is the highest strength ever acheived in a coil spring. The Tanabe Shiga factory in Japan is home to some of the most advanced, unique coil spring machines and processes in the world!
PRO210 is a fixed diameter, linear high performance coil spring for use on adjustable coilover suspensions. PRO210 is used on all Tanabe Sustec Pro suspensions, and the technology developed for PRO210 is used in ALL Tanabe performance coil springs.
The PRO210 spring was developed through rigorous R&D spanning many years and tested on JGTC and N1 endurance cars on Japan's fastest circuits. Due to the constant stresses involved in N1 endurace racing, our involvement was necessary to produce a spring of extreme quality, lightweight, extreme durability, and exact specifications to meet the needs of circuit racing.
Various materials were tested, and it was found that SWI200 steel alloy would prove to be the most durable if manufactured properly. Materials such as titanium were tested, but titanium had exhibited shortened durability and was also very expensive. Through a highly advanced manufacturing process, an amazing tensile strength of 2100nm was acheived using only SWI200 steel alloy. No other manufacturer has been able to reach this level of strength in a coil spring-- even those that use more expensive materials to strengthen their coil spring.

I have GF210 on my 8. See the pic below.
Be aware of that DF210 has no applicable product for 8 and pro210 is for coilover usage.
NF210 has the same drop as GF210 with different spring rates (softer).
To me, the drop is nice for the price but you might want go for coilovers if 'max drop' is what you like to have.
GF210 and koni yellow do make my ride stiffer than before. But it's fine with me and I like the feeling now.

Tanabe GF210 on Tokico Dspecs....This was a pretty comfortable ride when I had just this setup but now with the PT sways, AWR endlinks, JIC lateral links,carbing rear lower, and a bit more agressive alignment the ride is pretty rough

That looks like my friend Mikes set up on Sprint springs alone and his ride is stiff
dEEpsEa, You have stock shocks right?

When I had the GF210's on my car paired with the stock shocks, I thought the look was real good! I just wanted something new and the ability to adjust the height of my car!
The GF210's are still for sale..

I had installed a set of Tanabe GF210 on my 8 a few weeks back. Still use the stock shocks. So far no problem and I'm loving the new feel of the car.

Though my final suspension kit for my 8 would be the Sustec Pro SEVEN Coilover System, the GF210 springs would be sufficient for now. They're really nice springs and would definitely recommend them.

Juikster, your front looks like it could go lower. Did you drop it all the way? My Teins were like that until I loosened the lower control arm bolts.
What don't you like about the NF210 springs? Too soft?
