Stupid Question about rotating tires

Hey please forgive me if this is a stupid question LOL. And dont flame. I have winter tires on right now. And my summer tires are in the basement marked with letters for where they go. MY question is do i put the tires according to what it says on the tire or do i have to make the switch myself ???

Once again sorry for this. I know im an idiot.

Just put them back on based on where they were marked...unless they needed to be rotated when you took them off...

Then you would put the ones marked LF on the LR and the RF on the RR

You can put them back where ever you want, radial tires don't have to be kept on the same side of the car. When I rotate mine, I bring the rears to the front, and then cross the fronts when I put them on the back...so my drivers front tire will end up on the passenger rear. Of course you can only do this with non directional tires.

Usually not true ;(

A lot of tires are unidirectional. So they need to stay on the same side

Yeah that's why I said not with directional tires. I'm not a fan of directionals cause they usually wear funny.

Oh okay thanks guys !!! ONe last thing, how often should tires be rotated ???

Having to switch to winter tires kind of gets in the way of the "period" that the tires have to be rotated.

Should i just rotate everytime i switch from winters to summers and vice versa ??
