Match them with a good set of Toyo's and your talking about a 8lb saving per wheel. I think to really feel the difference, you'd have to go that light....so all in your talking 3K with tires, which as someone will surely point out, is as much as a turbo kit.

I'm going to start buy getting lighter weight tires when mine burn out, see how that feels, and then decide. I may decide still to go the light weight 8 option, and rather than turbo the car, just strip as much weight off as I can to get the car down to the 2600lb range.

Good wheels also have a good resale value on Ebay for what I can tell, if you decide to get rid of them in the future. If I could only find 10K on the street, these decisions would be so much easier......
Well, while I want to save weight here, it's not SO important to me that I'm willing to spend a ton of money. I was hoping since I can get the MS wheels for around $500 each that maybe the "generic" non-MS brand could be had for maybe $100 less per wheel, which might be worth it. But I still chafe at paying even that much considering I'm not unhappy with the factory wheels.

I'm thinking more and more that the Axis Hiros at 19.6 Lbs each are looking better and better, and they'll only run around $250 each. Anyway thanks for the input.

And, 2600 Lbs? That's an awful lot of weight to shave! Where are you thinking you're going to be saving that much?

Hmmm... 2700 EUR =
$3,517.35 USD. !! Strikes me as kinda expensive... but maybe not in your country. What do YOU think?

I think that's expensive in any country.

Not all 19s are heavy. The Enkei RP03 is a one-piece wheel, and it weighs 20.5 lbs in 19x8.5 and 21.6 lbs in 19x9.5.

The Enkei RC5 is a close match the MS wheel, and it comes in 18x9. However, they are two-piece, weigh about 19.5 lbs per wheel. Plus they cost about $450-$550 per wheel, so you might as well get the Volks at that price.

I ordered a set of 5Zigen FN01R-C in 18x8.5, I couldn't find a consistent weight but everything I saw said they were <20 lbs, and many sites said 17 or 18 lbs. They ran about 275 each.

2600 lbs is going to be pushing it I know, I'm also talking down the road where this won't be my primary daily driver.

for starters
- Lighter Battery - 20lb
- Wheels and tires- 32lbs
- Racing Seats - 50lbs
- Light weight exhaust - 30lb
- Remove most airbags - 20lbs
- No Cat - 15lb
- Total 167lb

Fully fueled, that gets me down to 2,793, I'm going to see how much more I can go without stripping out the interior/ac/radio stuff as I would still want to be able to live with the car.

First of all it includes shipping to my door, so product itself is a little less. Also currencies are a bit tricky now...
But, hmmm, let me enlighten you Paul. A local dealer here told me 4000euros for the same rims, how's that? :o
Even Mazda here has unbelievable prices: make a wild guess for... fender strakes, lets say.
.
.
.
450euros, please don't faint...:D that's why I bought them from rosthental
I don't know why the prices are so high, maybe some people want to take advantage of the rest, just because they love their cars... but in the end what can you do? How much do these rims cost in th US anyway?

And thanks for sharing your opinion

The CE28 would be about $2100 plus tires, which would include free mounting, balancing, and shipping.

:P I can get Nitto 19" tires for about 175 each... they are kinda uhmm not the exact best tires to get. I was happy with them before when I had some ghetto rims on my Civic. But to put Nittos on a Volk... ack.. I just can't do it.

Rims alone for Volk was about 2250-2350 range. So I was at least looking around 250 per tire.

The Toyos would probably be cheaper than the S03s. You're looking at Wheel Options right (Discount Tire)? Vick at Wheel Options said not to trust revhighonline's quotes, I forget what the reason was exactly. I think it had something to do with Mackin (the sole Volk distributor in the U.S.).

What color SF-Challenges were you looking at?

Ya Vick. Currently I got a quote for 3100 with Toyo's I believe. Hmm Though I do like SO3s. Mercury Silver SF Challenge.

Omi,

the OZ's superleggera's are nice looking/light weight and not to expensive for 18's at about $350 a piece. You can prolly get those and some decent rubber like Toyo or Perelli for about $2100 all in, and lose about 7lb per wheel. I forgot about these wheels and ran across them on the tire rack.

If money was no object, personally I think the SSR GT2's look nice as they are very close to stock and extremely light weight, but cost about $450 a wheel.

Guys, thought I would chime in. If there are a couple of you guys interested in any GT series or SF series wheels, specifically three guys at a time, I can do those SF Challenges in any of the standard colors, 19x8.5 and 9.5, with Toyo T1S, 245/35 and 275/30/19, for about $3100.00 shipped. If you guys would like Black Tuner McGard Wheel locks and Muteki Black Lugnuts, I can toss those in for another $50.00.

Total: $3150.00 shipped with T1S, 19" SF Challenge standard color, Muteki Black Hardware and Matching McGard Black Tuner Wheel Locks.

It's hard for me to get on the boards during the day. I'm limited to retail sales at night. This would be something that I can't do all the time. I'm basically tossing you guys tires for "free". Shipping is a good $150.00 with tires mounted on 19's.

Please email me if you're interested in GT series or SF series wheels. They run the same discount structure. Not sure how many of the 8's know me, but my references do extend for quite some years into the rotary community. I myself am an FC owner but primarily do footwork tuning on FD's and SE's.

Any of our wheel clients are entitled to further discounts on other footwork items we distribute like, Endless/Zeal, RSR, Espelir, Silkroad, etc....

Thanks, Rishie

How much for the GT-N in 18x9, without tires? And do you know how much they weigh?
