IL Sideways "skittering" on highway uneven pavement

Hi guys - I could use some help on something that I've noticed the last couple months with my 2005 RX-8...it has 44,000 miles on it and I've replaced the stock tires at about 25,000 with Goodyear Eagle GTs. I liked what it came with but they were just too soft and expensive for me to keep replacing.

Lately when I go over bumps on the highway or uneven rough patches I get a really unstable sideways almost lurching kind of feeling from the rear. It's really starting to bug me just because it feels so unsteady. No warning lights come on or anything like that regarding traction. Like I said I haven't done anything to the tires lately but I'm hoping you can tell me if I need to get something checked with the suspension, etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

check your rear swaybar endlinks and make sure they are not broken, ensure wheels are torqued to spec to start

It could be an alignment issue or any of the rear links could be bad.

rear toe settings being way out can make it track out easier on uneven road surface.
