And more... The TEIN spring labels, and the car in progress.

LOL

So, it was the metal sound... Cool. You have about 3X the rear bump stop I had. I picked mine out of the top of the shock with a dental tool. And, you saved the cost of Coil Overs. Free beer fro you.

I'm assuming that's how it's supposed to be? If not, then I guess Pep Boys or someone else must have lost both of the secondary metal washers, because I never encountered one on either shock O.o
So You are missing the piece I am talking about and that is the 1st major part of your issue.

Missing that washer plus not bump stop was giving you those horrible noises.

It probably isn't making noise now because you now have that brand new bump stop in there, but it will get destroyed if you don't add the lower piece I believe you are missing.

Proof you are missing it is this photo right here...

That black bushing shouldn't be sitting that low on the shaft, it shouldn't even be below the threads.

You are missing 28777A F15128777 CASING, STOPPER - REAR (RR) DAMPER

in Diagram below, unless you added something once you installed your new bump stops that isn't pictured.

Rear shock diagram:

I wouldn't drive the car until this is fixed, you'll destroy those new bump stops.

pretty much 100% positive this is what your issue is

You can see that Suspension diagram better here. Look at it to see if all of that is installed in that order.

OK I ordered a set of those stopper casings.

I don't see how they would affect the bump-stops themselves, because not only do they sit above the bump stops and hence would not interfere with the top of the shock case impacting the bottom of the bump-stop as they currently do, but they also do not affect the height or position of the actual bump stop - only the height/position of the black top-hat bushing by pushing it upwards by an inch or so.

Still, it will be better to have all the correct parts intact.

It isn't there to help the bump stop. The bump stop is there just as a last resort if you hit a massive bump and fully compress your suspension. That washer/stopper is there to mate with the strut shaft so that it dampens the movements of your suspension. The way you car currently sits the load bearing washer to make the strut work isn't there. You are mostly on just springs right now with the help of a foam bump stop. I would be shocked if you don't see a large improvement in comfort and performance once this is correctly installed.

OK I got the new 28-777 parts in today, and you can see from the picture of the new parts and from the screenshot of the diagram that the part numbers are correct... But it looks an awful lot like I already have a set of these installed... They are the silver bell-housing type things right? The ones that fit over the top of each of the bump-stops and covers the entire top segment of each bump-stop..? What am I supposed to do with a second set of these? Is the black rubber bushing supposed to go inside of the second silver metal bell-housing or something..? O.o
