Does anyone know what the stock spring rates are? Grungepup was a little loose on the last canyon run and blame was placed on the new tires but it was also the first run on the Tein H techs.

I am real close to going Htech and Tokico D-Spec, likely will buy this month. Will definitely have before November. I will try before and after pics, just do not have a stock 8 to put up against. Any takers in the Orlando area? I am looking at H vs. S primarily for the reduced drop. But, others are talking about the progress progressively wound springs. Problem is I do not want that much drop. Who has the silver car? Got contact information?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Progress Auto X springs are higher than both the H's and S's (Hoss-05 has them here locally) The silver is grungepup's car.

Not the best pic but the 8 on the left is mine with S-tech's and the 8 on the right is progress springs.

Thanks,

That helps, er hurts... I had convinced myself that H was the way to go for the right drop. I picasaed that picture and one of the others to bring out the tires and now I am not so sure. I really like the stance. From your signature, I think you have the Bilstein shocks. Is that right?

Thanks again..

Yeah, I saw that. I was taking everything into consideration. I guess I didn't realize the pics were THAT off, but I've never been able to compare the two very well.

This was a great thread. I like the pics, awesome comparison. There could be many reasons why the H-techs are lower in the front, but what i noticed was how much lower the rear was on the S-techs. There is definitely a difference there. 9K how is the ride on the S-techs? What does your friend think of the ride on his H's?

Nice Bump. Well grungepup is still rockin' the H techs and still loves from what I know. I actually replaced my shocks with new KYB's and sold my S techs to another local member because I got a brand new set in trade for some work. Unfortunately I have not driven it in two months due to my new/Turbo build. But I love the S Techs/KYB combo and we will see how they hold up with an additional 75-100 horsepower

No one else will want to modify them to fit anyway so I don't think I have to worry about them becoming the next RPF1 or Axis Hiro of the RX-8 world.

Rear lowering

Upon inspection, after the install on my s tech springs, ive noticed almost no drop on the rear. The front wheel well has filled dramatically but the rear is still fairly high. Yet both cars have dramatic drops on the rear. how can i accomlish the same look without cutting my springs?

Did you tighten everything with the car in the air?
