Thumbs down rx7store : what you buy is not what you get

Hi,

just received my rotors from rx7store.net

the 11 september buy the package (front + rear) slotted rotors.
Call them (jason)
He say me the rotors are from brembo.
strange :
picture show the rotora rotors
for me never find rotors from brembo for the rx8 (only big brakes)

I've got jason several times and send some e-mail (He was late for the shipping)
he always say me yes yes it's brembo rotors ...

so here they are :

my wonderfull Centric Parts rotors ......
you do not know this compagny before :
here you can go :
http://www.centricparts.com

I think there's only 1 compagny who built rotors for rotora stoptech .... OE rotors for the rx8

I'm a little bit disappointed :
you call to a seller
he lies each times ...

it's not really nice

Impossible to speak with jason tonight
If you read this mail, perhaps could you explain us ....

sorry for my english

Sorry to hear that... I recently needed to find me new rotors and "I thought" the ones from Rx7store where the ones from rotora (they even have the same wording in their description, only without the parts where is said "Rotora"). I also talked to Brembo and you are right, they don't make Rotors that would fir the OEM Braking system of the 8

I ended up buying Rotora because I talked to them and they told me they didn't supply Rx7store rotors and the rotora were the ones I liked better.

I personally think it is kind of strange from Jason, I've only read good thing from Rx7 store, talk to him and try to work out something

i thought they were rotora's as well a long time ago but then spoke to Jason and he claimed they were "premium" rotors that some shop in cali drills/slots.

In all fairness, they could be good pieces... never heard of the place though.

yes
I agree with you

perhaps centric parts makes good rotors

it's a commercial problem
you buy something
you receive an other product !!

I do not have picture yet

but centric parts have the same design as rotora rotors

I think rotora centrics parts stoptech .... come from the same compagny !! and are the same product

OK. I haven't called Brembo, but I did find these Brembo Rotors on eBay.
I haven't done too much investigating, but are these fake?

Brembo blanks aren't that expensive. $289 sounds about right for some brembo blanks cross drilled \ slotted.

I just got my slotted rotors in today--from intial inspection they look ok to me. I'm having them put on Friday. Unfortunately I don't have the appropriate tools to do the job myself--the shop where I take my Millenia is putting them on for about $80.

This recently just occured on the 6club forums. Seller promised they were brembo rotors, and they weren't.

Quick notes on brembo rotors.

1) All brembo rotors have a global ID #. This number is marked on the rotor (usually on the hub section) and is almost always accompanied by a small brembo logo.

2) Brembo NEVER crossdrills AND slots their rotors. They are either blanks, or cross-drilled. If you ever buy a rotor thats both Xdrilled and slotted, or slotted, it is most likely either...
a) Not a brembo rotor
b) Xdrilled and/or slotted by another company which voids any and all warranty the brembo rotor had.
c) An OE rotor thats been xdrilled/slotted and resold as a brembo.

3) The US brembo office ANSWERS the phone. There are actual humans there, and they answer your questions, and transfer you to more humans with answers. Its incredible. If you have any question over the legality or validation of a brembo rotor, call them @

In response to the Brembo claim. The people that do the drilling and slotting on the rotors I sell have told me they buy Brembo blanks. This was a while ago and its possible they have switched. I will call them and findout whats up, along with changing them on my site. For those that recieved them and want to return them I dont have a problem with that. Just send me an email and let me know. Last time I looked they came in Brembo boxes, but that was months ago.

The slotted ones I got are in the centric box--I'm installing them Friday--I didn't think they were supposed to be Brembo to begin with.

Jason
that's nice

I stay in france

so you will :
pay 210 $ to send them back to the usa (us postal)
80 $ to undo the rotors to my garage and put old
210 $ to send me the news one
80 $ to put them

total : 580 $

you're really nice

I think it's less expensive to check the box before shipping
If you're true ..

or perhaps you know it's centric parts rotors and not brembo !!

Btw the "we xdrilled/slot" brembo blanks is usually the begining of the scam. No global ID = not brembo. Slotted brembo = not brembo (warranty void), xdrilled by someone other then brembo = not brembo (warranty void).

Its a very common internet scam. Call brembo for more information. They answer the phone.
