Today I lowered my car using a set of Tein S-Tech springs, and while the drop is pleasing, I'm getting a rubbing/scraping noise that seems to be coming from my rear right.

I finished too late to get an alignment today, but plan on getting one first thing in the morning. Will this alleviate the noise? I'm kind of concerned about it, it's pretty loud.

 

Sounds like you forgot to tighten all of your bolts. Get back under there and make sure everything has been fastened the way it is suppose to be.

 

It's possible. I'll ask the guy doing my alignment tomorrow to make sure everything is snug, since I won't have access to a garage for a few days. I forgot to mention I put on a set of 25mm wheel spacers. I'm gonna remove them tomorrow and see if that improves it at all.

 

Is the sound constant? I have the same setup (springs and spacers) and my tires will make contact with the fender linig when I hit a bump. If it only makes the noise when ya hit a bump it prolly that. Just have to get your fenders rolled. If the sounds constant then it's somthin else.

 

Oh and also I'd wait about a week for an alignment. Let everything settle first.

 

Had the same thing. Most likely it is not the fenders but the plastic lining. Once you trim it, the noise will go away. Doesn't hurt to roll the fenders while you're at it though.

 

Mine does the same thing. Especially with passengers. Hasn't hurt anything though. Just slow down a bit. Since your lowered a little bit you'll find that certain driveways and such are your mortal enemies...

Turns out the impact wrench we were using at my buddy's house didn't have the necessary torque to get all the bolts tightened down correctly. Luckily the shop I took it to caught it before my suspension fell apart on the road.

Pretty embarrassing, but at least I learned to crank everything down by hand, if just to check.

...sounded all too familiar, I had the same issue with the clunking sound and turned out a bolt was not all the way tightened. GLW the new springs.
