Rotary Performance SS Brake and Clutch lines

I installed these today. It took about 5 hours for a job that should have been done in less than three. The main issue I ran into was part fit. The backing nuts on all the fittings were slightly larger than OEM and did not want to fit in the recesses. Also the fronts had to be bent a bit as the bend was just too tight. Those issues aside the quality of the parts was good. First impressions, you notice the clutch engagment is smoother, especially for starts and quick shifts. I don't really notice any change in the brake performance but when heated up these lines should prevent that spongy feeling that occurs when the rubber lines tend to billow.

I also took this opportunity to install speed bleeders and change the brake fluid. Based on the corrosion I found on the oem breeder screws and the color of the fluid it looks like is was due. If you read the thread on speed bleeders, read the whole thread. It gives bad info that is not corrected till later in the thread. For reference:

Clutch 7 x 1.0
Front 8 x 1.0
Rear 10 x 1.0

Due to the fitment issues and the tight quarters for the clutch line install, this may be challenging for the average DIYer. Take your time, make sure you get the parts to fit properly and you shouldn't have any problems.

Looks like it has a bladder problem....

I have the MS Clutch Line yet to install. How long would you say just the clutch line would have taken?

If you have access to a hoist it shouldn't take more that an hour. I installed the speed bleeder from the bottom and it wasn't too bad. All of the brake and clutch lines have one side rounded off and seat in a recess to prevent them from turning. The RP ones were just a tad to big. I would think you wouldn't have this problem with a MS part but I haven't seen one. I think Nemesis8 has the MS clutch line so maybe he can chime in.

Chime

The MS clutch line fit perfect - but I did not do it myself. I had my personal mechanic do it. It took him about 20 minutes.

I have the MS brake lines also - just not installed yet....

I haven't installed the lines yet but I have used the Castrol LMA.

Worked great at the track. The Porterfield brakes were great too!

Concerning brake / clutch lines........ Sounds like implementation of universal stainless lines.

That's probably why I have seen real expensive lines. I wonder if SR motorsports lines have the same problem.

Bleeding your brakes and Master Cylinder

When you bleed your brakes, also bleed the Master Cylinder. My 8 had collected some air over time (18 months) that led to a slightly spongy feel. After bleeding the MC also the brakes feel better than ever.
