TSW Volcano wheels take the TPMS sensors. Valve stem holes on the TSWs are slightly bigger than those on the stock wheels though, so it does take some patience to get them to seat correctly... but it is possible. Details on the wheels here.

Call TSW and ask them, that's what I did. 800-578-4879. I spoke with Augie at extension 209 and he was awesome. Tell him RX8Club.com sentcha.

As for removing your current sensors, once you remove the wheels and tires they just unbolt. I had my tires and sensors both removed and then installed on my new rims at the mechanic. One more thing of note: Make sure they use a "soft touch" tire machine or your current and new rims will be damaged.

Hope this helps!

According to Wheel Autohaus, the Racing Hart CX will not take the TPMS sensors.
Here is their response to my email.

"I am sorry the TPMS Sensor will not work with the Racing Hart wheel. The
TPMS is sensor is part of the valve stem. So they won't fit the Racing Hart
wheel."

Thank you,

Charles Back
WheelAutoHaus

I'm now looking at the Evo Lightning 18" I know I've seen other 8's with these
wheels. Any TPMS issues? or did you disable the TPMS?

Red face Rims that take TPIs

Already a lot on this subject but another one to reassure you, i got my winter rims from Tire Rack - keeping my Blizzacks ready mounted. I thought long and hard about putting in TIPs. My Mazda dealer told me not to bother and to ignore the dash warning light. Never felt happy with that. Anyway Tire Rack assured me the rims would take the TIPs and they did no problem. Since then, 100% relaible and no issues.

Only mistake I made was having them mounted and balanced by some pillock who doesn`t know the difference between static and dynamic balancing. Make sure you get static balancing done...where the weights are the flat stick-on type which sit inside the rim. If supposed tire place tries the edge mounted clip-on weights, they need to be closed down for incompetance.

Good luck

Tom

I'd be interested in any wheel discussions. Being that I just flattened my two left stock rims in a pot hole.

anyone want to make an actual list and post it as a sticky? it would be a lot better than having to read multiple pages to find which wheels take it and which dont

I just put the sensors into my Volk Progressiv Spokes today at the local America's Tire Co. I think most wheels do take it.

I got a set of DIP 18x7.5 wheels that work just fine with the sensors. Matter of fact when it got cold last wek the dash light came on. Had to put a little air in the left front tire. Soon as I did it went off .
