Are the rotors (back and front) supposed to be the same size?

 

No.

 

RX-8 with sport suspension has Position = FRONT Size: 322x24mm (12.7" x 0.9") Rotor Weight (lbs.): 18.5 and the RX-8 with non sport suspension (AT 16" wheels and UK Jap 5 speed) has Side = L/R Position: FRONT Size: 303x24mm (11.9" x 0.9") Rotor Weight (lbs.): 16.3
The back on the AT and MT RX-8 are the same size = Side: L/R Position: REAR Size: 302x18mm (11.9" x 0.7") Rotor Weight (lbs.): 12.3
