Quality of XXR wheels

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and the rotary community. I'm gunna be buying an 8 hopefully on Wednesday next week and it has a set of XXR 518s and I was wondering about the quality of their wheels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have known a few people with those wheels, never heard any complaints. I think EasyE1 has had the same set on two cars and they still look good.

Yea like input said, they are heavy but that doesnt really matter all to much unless you are getting into AutoX or tracking your car.

But they are cheap for sets of them and some of them actually look really good.

I've had a set and they have had no issues.

As said, pretty heavy, but I don't track so it doesn't matter.

You could always change it if you don't like it. Anyway, didn't know it was a year old thread.

Cheaper than Rotas, quality is hit and miss, from talking to the local discount tire manager. He told me of more than a handful failures. Poor casting causing pinhole leaks. One guy had a rock hit the barrel on his xxr 526 and the barrel exploded. But they are like hundred bucks a wheel less than Rotas so at least they are cheap.

That said, any manufacturer can have defects. I'd be willing to bet a quality wheel maker will have a much lower failure rate.

They are HEAVY, and not design for track.
If you want something cheap for DD, they are fine.

I'm happy with my XXR 006's. Only issue I have is that the center caps wear and become loose. But I have an early set and they seemed to have changed the center cap design. They are heavy. 26lbs a piece. But they look good.

26lbs a piece is ridiculously heavy, My 18x9.5's are only 17.4lbs...

I said they were heavy. Everybody else said they were heavy. And guess what? They are heavy.
