Installed my powder coated wheels

I just got my wheels fresh from the powder coater. I think they look great, but I'll have to wait a few weeks to see what they look like mounted. Its still too cold for my summer tires. I know many others have done this, but I'm stoked so I felt like starting a thread. Cost was $350 and they are coated a wet black that was custom made for Orange County Choppers (I live just South of OCC).

looks really good man.. if i could take my car out of commision for long enough to do it, and knew someone here who could/would for that kind of money.. i'd do it in a heart beat. i think i would rather have a less shiny more flat black for my galaxy ghey though. Looks great!!

Thank you for all the positive comments so far. I guess I should mention I have a black beauty 8. So far I blacked out the wheels, the badges, and the smoke out tail light kit is in the mail.

Yeah, sorry it is a bit of a tease, but trust me the rims are tormenting me also. Everytime I walk by them I think, "damn I cant wait to see how they look on".

I dropped them off, the shop is like ten minutes away from me. If you are really considering getting it done, and cant find a shop by you, I remember in another thread that somebody got their rims powder coated in Toms River NJ for $275 for all 4 wheels. If I had to ship out I would probably use them (offset the shipping charges). If you are really interested I can probably find the link for you.

Ugh - I want this done but cant find anyone local to do it for a reasonable price.

Did they strip them down for you too? The cheapest I found so far is 80 a wheel, if I bring it stripped.

That was me. SDI Powder Coating. 732-473-0800. Not sure what the prices are now. My rims were also new so the prep was minimal.

I'd like to see a black 8 with either bronze or gold powdercoat. Couple guys on the evo forums painted their stock's bronze and it looks great on a black evo.

Yeah I thought real hard about getting a nice bronze, but overall I felt like with all the other blackout mods im doing that the wet black would look terriffic once all is said and done. Somebody on this forum has a black eight with bronze painted rims and it does look nice. To each his own.

sweet. I'm thinking of powdercoating my aftermarket 18" 5Zigen Super6's either black or bronze as an alternative to getting new rims.....still haven't decided, but if I can get all 4 done for $300ish, I'll do it.

Updated pic on my rims. The red outline has always been my plan, and today I finally got a chance to see what it looks like. I just did it fast and I will have to re-apply carefully once my tires are installed, but I think it will look great. They only thing I might do is buy the expensive black centercaps. I know their dusty and have fingerprints all over them. I forgot to wipe them off before the pics.
