ok to use? (couple of suspension questions)
So, thanks to some great people I was able to get some after market parts for my car and curious if I can use them with what I have or if I would just be best to wait till I can get the rest of the stuff I want (which may be a while)
I have a set of MS springs and PT sways sitting in my garage.
Least the sways, I know I can't use the stiff settings with my OEM end links. I suspect they will die a horrible death. Is it ok to use the OEM end links on the softest settings with these?
Same for the springs, I have what ever a 06 GT comes with. I know using them will mean less life on the OEM shocks but by how much? Are we talking they will die in a few months or like maybe a year or so less than they normally would?
I know people say don't do the springs by themeselves, get shocks and do them at the same time but I am ok with 2 different installs only because I have never done either one and would rather mess around now and have to take everything apart again down the road. I'm totally fine with this.

I have the PT sways with the OEM endlinks and I use them on medium stiff in the front and full stiff in the rear at track days and full soft front and rear for daily driving. So far so good 1 year and 5 track days out.

I was just researching up the MS springs because I wanted to get them. From what I gather, even though the 280/197 rate quoted by MS is inaccurate on the high side, it is still far too stiff for stock shocks (especially the rear). Most threads that I searched up discourage using MS springs on stock shocks, as the shocks would give up far too quickly.

I understand the rates that we have on the MS springs are way high (or at least seem to be) I've seen threads that rate them the same as stock ones or the high rates so if you place them some where in between aren't they fairly close to other spring sets that are said to be ok to use on stock shocks?

what is far to quickly mean though in terms of the life of the shock? My plan is to get new ones sometime this year.

I have no idea what "quicker" means in shock life, especially since stock shocks with stock springs are supposed to last a long time (I've heard numbers of 60k miles). It's not a linear digression of life when you're dealing with shocks and spring rates, though. I'm making educated guesses based on everything I've read, and I would not imagine your shocks dying in a year with the MS springs.

I've read the DIYs I could find (wish the spring install had photos) for spring installs and sway installs. The sways seem pretty straight forward but the spring one looks a bit more complicated. Is there is anything I should know that isn't really covered in the DIYs? Is there anything I should look out for, like having to loosen or remove bolts that deal with alignment on either install?
I think for now I am going to put my sways on the middle stiffness in the front, not sure about the back. I am using stock end links so I don't want to kill them too much.
Going to be a busy weekend.
