nOOb question on brake pad sizing

are OEM pad sizes across different model cars the same, or do they come in as many diff. sizes as tires, etc.??? i.e. can you swap pads between dissimilar cars?
Now that I've got the new '8, will be selling my Audi A4 but would be nice to salvage the Hawk HP+ pads I've got on 'em, which still have lots of life left.

TIA,
Gulaman

Very rare to have parts from one maker fit anothers. Look up the Hawk part numbers for the A4 & the RX-8, if they are the same then they fit. If not sell the Hawks on the A4 board and buy RX-8 brake pads.
