Exclamation No More Polished Wheels!

we just received this info from mnao. looks like the polished wheels will no longer be available. so if you own polished wheels you will truly have a one of a kind car, since no one else will be able to buy them. but also if you own them and something damages the wheel you will have to get 4 chrome or 4 non polished. here is the letter info:

Dear Mazda Dealer:
Due to supplier capacity issues, MNAO is ceasing availability of the 18" Polished Wheel for the exciting RX-8.

As a result , once the current stock and those in transit is depleted they will no longer be available.

In its place, we are procurring a Chromed version of the same wheel. We are finalizing our plans now. As soon as we know when we can expect to receive them, we'll let you know. Price should be unchanged from the Polished version. We apololize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thumbs down

Oh oh, I just damaged 1 yesterday. Hopefully when I return the car they don't decide to charge me for 4 wheels!

I'd fight that for sure!

That sucks

Chromes are a poor substitute, IMHO. The chroming process adds material to the wheel, while polishing removes material, and chrome can and likely will end up peeling or flaking.

If I was wanting shiny wheels, I'd be sending mine to a rework shop to have them polished.

Oh I didn't know they could so easily be fixed!

I called around and there is a shop in Montreal that can fix my rim Cheaper than a new rim for sure $100-$150 rather than $500 for a new rim!

Apparently it's a 3 day turnaround. That's what 1 guy said but then another said they exchange your wheel for another refinished one. LOL that ain't going to happen for sure. Hopefully it's not too long as the car goes back soon!
