pffft - i'm running +40, the reverend has +30 and vlaze has +28. I don't see how +42 would be "best" w/255's unless they're talking about mounting wheels w/unrolled fenders. :dunno:


^he is correct for daily driven use w/minimal suspension modification.

265's will work and so will 275's but (assuming) since you're NA, you can save the weight and just run 265's and still look very clean. :bigok:

We wanted to come out for SS this year but it didn't work out.. but we'll be there next year! Possibly with the 8!

I have H-techs and he already rolled my fenders the other night in preparation.. Not sure if I'd rub or not without rolling, but the wheels were already off so we took advantage of the opportunity.

now those are fighting words there man.

^sounds good - the spring rates on the h-techs will suffice the clearance at full load so you'll be good for both daily driving and spirited runs.

With the right suspension you could have had the same specs and not rub even w/out rolling the fenders - i just choose to aire on the side of caution.

265's will work out fine - i have 18x10 +40's w/265/35's all around n' they fit beautifuly.

I have 265/35 in my 18x10 et 38 + all around and they fit fine. A fender roll will be needed in the rear or it will rub when the suspension is under hard load.

Thats a good tire. I've been using them for a couple years now (different sizes on two different sets of Forgestar F14s) with very little complaint. This summer I decided to go big and went with 285/30/19 in the front and 305/30/19 in the rear. I love it, no shortness of grip and there is just a smudge of oversteer.

Guys I made the mistake of buying rubber before I found these wheels my tires being 245/40/18..........I love the concavity look so I was wondering what width rim should I go to and at what offset to give me a simular look with out throwing much of the handling off. I am lowered on Tein S spring. Any input before I place an order would be great help. Thanks

Concavity = 10" wide. 245 won't explode or handle terribly if put on there. Look at the reverend for an example.

Im pretty sure after the spacer he is +18 or something.

Wheel is +30 and after spacers it is +15 I believe. 9.5 is the widest that the tire manufacturers will tell you is ok for a 245/40, but people put them on much wider wheels all the time.

Ummm... just wanted to mention something about the correct tire size after I read this, before someone else makes the mistake I did:

255/35/18 will throw off your speedometer and will lower your undercarriage by 12mm.... I learned that the hard way... The correct offsets for 255s are 40s, not 35. You need to calculate the diameter of the wheel + tire in the following way: 255*(offset/100)*2 + the wheel dia.

Before someone reads THAT and makes a mistake. 255/35 is a good option when it's a low offset wheel setup because stock tire height will rub the front fender liners and/or the metal underneath. 255/40 is roughly equal to stock tire height though.

Oh and offset does not mean what you are saying. Your offset is really profile height or whatever.

What color would fit VR best? silver or gunmetal?? anyone with pics? Really thinking about something for the car this coming year with the income tax lol.

You are correct sir, I offset is something completely different. I did not think about running "lower profile" tire :suspect: to avoid rubbing.... Although I still think it's a bad idea, I distinctly remember my speedometer reading being slightly off, although I could have been imagining, however I just don't know of any other way of calculating velocity aside from measuring rotation and multiplying by 2*pi*r.
