New tires on stock rims, no ice or snow, what to get?

I just turned 20k the other day and my Dunlops are starting to get down to the indicators and I felt it was time to get my 8 some new shoes. I live in north Texas. It rains quite a bit but I'm very conservative in the rain. It hardly ever snows and if it ices, the whole D/FW metroplex just kind of turns off so ice driving is not an issue.

What would you guys recommend for a good combination of price and dry performance? Slippery in the rain is just fine, I'd rather have a stickier dry tire with decent tread wear and price than a good rain tire since it is a damn sports car you know?

Any ideas?

I greatly appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance.

James

After taking a look at my financial status (starting law school in the fall) I think I'm going to have to go with the Kumho's SPT. I hate that I can't afford to spend more on the car, but as long as they do as good if not slightly better than the not so sticky dunlops I've had for the last 20k miles I think I'll be ok...

you'll be extremely satisfied with the kumho spt. Dont think that a good tire has to be expensive, IMO Kumho tires are the best tire per dollar spent by far!

I sure hope I'll be satisfied. I can't wait till I'm financially in a situation to afford to put Falken 615's on every 7k miles or so. Until then, SPT's will have to do.
