need some help
hey guys... just picked up my 8 yesterday and i'm already loving it, unfortunatly it started to snow here in Toronto and i'm still on my stocks... need help deciding what tires and wheels to go with, i'm kind of poor right now because of the fact that i just bought this car, but i have about $1500 - $1700 CND to spend... I've been hearing good things about the Dunlop M3, Blizzak WS- 50, and now i'm hearing about Toyo being really good... I have no idea what rims i want, just something cheap that isn't going to take away from the car that much... Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks
Chris

Hey Chris, Welcome.
Take a look at the stickys in this forum. They have tons of info in them. You can also find some more specific info on what and where to buy in Canada in the Canadian sub-forum.
In general, Konig or Kazera make inexpensive wheels that work - period. May not be pretty but they work. Look to get some 17inch wheels if you have the GT as they along with the tires are cheaper than the 18'ers.
You won't go wrong with either the Blizzaks or the Dunlap M3s. Look for a 225/50 X17.

Ditto on reading the sticky thread here, and search for 'winter tire' in the Canada section as well.
BUT - you want 215/55-17 if you can, preferable over 225/50-17. Narrower is better for winter tires.
Dunlop M3 are great. I've got Toyo Garit HT 215/55-17, starting 3rd winter on them. Very good winter tires. Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2, Pirelli has a good one now. If you want a Blizzak, get the LM22 rather than the WS50.
Again, read some of the winter tire threads here and in the Canada forum section!
