Forgot to ask, when you say "MS kit," are you also referring to the body as well? I only want the mechanical upgrade (sway bars, struts, suspension, etc.)..is there such a kit? I can't find it on dealer's website, except to buy it individually. So, can anyone get back to me what is included in this "MS kit?" Thanks!!

I have the ms suspension kit. Shocks, springs, and sways. Ordered from my mazda dealer and installed by my mazda dealer. Ideal mod for the street, but with my r compounds on the track I want it to be a little stiffer. If you are not planning on too much track time then I feel this is an amazing suspension setup

If you don't mind me asking, How much did the Dealer charge for the install?

Thanks...................Doug

Indeed this was going to be my question. Look above, ~ $880.00 for the install only at the "stealership" close to my house... yeah right...

I used RB spring/shock installation guide as well as this one: http://www.swankmonkey.com/mazda/rx8...rs/index3.html

Use what makes sense to you. RB says to remove the upper links in the instructions... I don't quite agree with this.. I just removed the lower arm and that was it.

MS kit = springs/shocks/sways/strut bar.

I track the car 3 or 4 times a year... AX maybe 6 times and commute the rest of the time... This was the perfect compromise. I also saved and decided to go with a proven kit DESIGNED for the 8 by Mazda.. and not a kit that "lowers" the car w/o doing much research on spring rates and shock settings.

Good luck, Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the install.

Carlos

Carlos,
The car looks great!

My oppinion is that the shocks and spring part of the kit is far more important than the bars... and spending money on the bars only would be mostly a waste. A super stiff car does nothing for you if the shocks are saggy.
Cheers.
