lowering..opinions?
i want to lower my 8.. im not getting new wheels at the moment but im thinking tein type flex coilovers. Its always been "known" they are awesome and i never thought id be able to get any back when i was into the honda scene. Is this the best way for me to go or should i look at something else?
I dont really know what to look for in the specs because i knew next to nothing about them so a little direction would be nice. Several people have told me the teins so what do you think??

any more opinions?? id prefer to stay around 1400 or less.. i can go more but jeese its alot of money.
Is there really much difference between difference full coilovers..what am i looking for when im looking at the specs?
I dont race..i cruise and enjoy my car but i want it lower. I do have a steep driveway and stock rim and tires so im a little worried about that but i used to have a super low prelude and i could manage to get my car around places even thought i could push a can of coke (laying down) with it

I don't buy Kool-Aid
Get some Teins or NEX SS or Megan Coilovers. Look on here or ebay or I did a google and found a good price on the NEX SS
Its just that I never heard of them. I just might have to take one for the team and try them NEX out

do you really need coilovers?

^ Because you will wear out your stock shocks fast if the spring rate is a lot higher and have the possibility of bottoming out if it's too low.
Tein basics (can even adjust ride height) and combos such as Koni + S-techs are lots cheaper than the fancier Tein Flex and Megans if you just want a lower and long-lasting ride. I'm guessing you don't care about the adjustability that much, right?

coilovers are great if your a track junkie or a like tweaking all the time, if you just drive on the street though, i suggest getting just a spring and shock setup, sure you lose some adjustability, but you really only set your ride height once, also the pillow ball mounts that come with the tein flex setup will definately add a bump or two to your ride
my tein and koni setup costed about 900 installed, that saves you an extra 700 off the tein flexes to get some other mods

Funny, the 8 that did a pretty good account of itself on the Targa Newfoundland road rally actually raised the suspension.

Also, the Tein Flex are by no means high end. They're just decent entry level coilovers...nothing special, but good enough for the average track driver (myself included). And they are not that harsh for having 500lbs/400lbs front to rear spring rates, imo.

kw is too expensive. i found tein flex for 1320. i want a good coilover because i want stuff done right. i just need some answers not a bunch of people telling me what i do and dont need. there are too many mixed opinions here from people who probably dont even know. Thanks to the people who were helpful giving me information rather than whining.

I did Tein Basics, for the same reasons it sounds like you have. Just wanted the lower look. Not interested in tracking the car. Probably won't do much adjusting. Price is much better up front, around $700. Don't forget your installation price if you're not doing it yourself, another $200-$400.

Simply because one tracks a car has nothing to do with choosing to go coilover(one can track very successfully with a spring and damper combo). Choosing a coilover is for a well paired spring/damper combo, running higher spring rates, along with adjustability galore (and corner balancing). The cheaper simply don't hold up to the quality of the upper end coilovers.

i think 1300-1500 should be plenty to spend on some coilovers. They are definately not the cheapest. i bought some aerospeed coilover and kyb shocks for my old prelude back when i was broke and they lasted fine but like i said i want to get something nice this time.
Ive been racking my braing wanting to do this the right way because its a nice car and i want to take care of it. i dont think its necessary to pay 2 grand or more for coilovers.
