FL Looking for new tires - Black friday sales?

Well it's about time for new tires and I'm wondering if any one has seen any good deals for Black Friday yet?

Does tirerack ever participate in BlackFriday/Cyber Monday?

I'm looking at these: Bridgestone Potenza's
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....d&autoModClar=

It's what I have now, and they seem ok..

If anyone has any suggestions on place to purchase, other models I should look at, or other good deals please speak up.

That's a OE tire that's average in my book.
If you look at Tirerack's comparisons you will see better tires for the money

Tirerack usually has their promotions between seasons (fall & spring). This is when I find my best deals on tires with TR. Also, it may be worth looking at Discount Tire.

Also, go with 245/40 instead of 225/45 if you want a little bit more grip

Well the reason I asked here are there are a higher population of RX8 owners than on any tire site.. and the fact that it's hard to filter reviews by RX8 made it easier..

Since I didn't get any actual recommendations.. perhaps someone has opinions of these models? (Besides the original OEM i have as stated in the OP)

Continental ExtremeContact DW
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....r=&tab=Reviews

Kumho Ecsta SPT
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....d&autoModClar=

Or perhaps someone has another opinion? I don't want to spend over 200/tire and since I live in south FL, I really only need to worry about dry/wet (no snow etc..) I also use these as a daily driver, commuting mostly on highway and some 'city' (Thoug calling anywhere in S Fl a city just makes me laugh)

I'm hoping someone chimes in to. I'll be getting new tires in March and would like to have a set picked out and ready to go before then.

I also live in FL so (S)now is't a big deal, just D&W. Looking for a more comfortable ride.

I run the 050 on my subaru legacy gt wagon and I love it on that car. But I think it is a bit soft for the RX8. I am in the minority in that I like the 040 that came stock. I found the wet grip to be very good until the last 20 % of the tire life that I got out of it. It's a really good tire, if you can get it on sale for less than $150 per. However, at $230 the 040 is not a good deal. The 050 is fantastic in the wet, and has a very smooth ride - actually you might like this one.

I think the best tire available is likely the RE-11, with better grip wet or dry than anything else the tirerack has tested, and according to reviews I've read on miata.net (my brother has this tire, too). It is pricey though. I am going to get the Michelin PS2, for $220. I am worried that the RE-11 is a better tire for the money but I am just not going to spend for that.

I have read good things about the conti DW and it has tested well. I think it is an excellent tire, and if you are going to get a tire for your 8 for less than $200 per, I don't think that there is another tire that can really challenge the conti DW (at $150) barring maybe the the Starspecs, if you can get them that cheap.

Contis tend to be nice, smooth riding tires with good wet performance, but they will feel soft compared to the stock rubber and turn in will suffer, so you might not be happy with that. I run contis on all of my cars for winter, snow tires and winter tires, and I really like them. But I take it easy in winter so that I make the tires last longer.

My $.02. Good luck.

Advan Neova AD08

I went from the kumho escta SPT to the much more pricey but soooo worth it Yokohama Advan Neova AD08. These tires take the handling on the RX-8 to a whole other level.... On that note they probably wont last near as long as the other tires mentioned.. I didnt do a lot of freeway driving, just highway and around town stuff until i put the winter tires on in november. ive probably put 6000 miles on them and I cant tell a difference in tred depth from new.. And I love spirited driving especially through the bends.
