KYB or KONI
#2
Koni doesn't have off the shelf dampers yet although they have done prototypes. If you're willing to pay, they could probably custom build a set of SA or DAs for you but you would likely have to reuse your OEM spring seats in the rear.
When the Konis do become available, the rear dampers will probably use the "compress and turn" adjustment method for rebound instead of the familiar ****. The problem is that there's no way to get to the top of the rear shocks while they're installed.

I happened to email Koni last week suggesting they develop a shock & spring kit for RX-8. They're currently rolling out kits for Miata, several Honda applications, etc.
The Koni rep affirmed they're developing "dampers" for the RX-8, but didn't know of any plans to do a complete kit.
