Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39...any experience/knowledge?
Hey everyone, my first post. My 2004 RX is still on it's original tires, Dunlop Sp Sport 8090's, with about 65,000km. They still have decent tread, but they are a little dicey in a heavy downpour. I have been researching tires for about a month, and got prices on literally every tire available. I am sticking with the stock size, rather than stepping up to the 245's, because I am more interested in steering response than ultimate grip. I never track or auto-x the car, but do drive on some very twisty roads in northern Ontario. I am interested if anybody has any insight into the Kumho Ecsta Le Sport. I have been quoted $200/$205 per tire, installed and balanced (plus 13% tax, of course). If I can't get any opinions on this tire, I can either be a guinea pig, and go ahead with the tire anyway OR try one of these:
B F Goodrich G-force Sport $804 (taxes in)
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 $815 (taxes in)
Kumho Ecsta Spt $865-885 (taxes in, depending on the dealer)
General Exclaim UHP $854 (taxes in)
Based on what I have read in here, I am inclined to eliminate the General, due to many people complaining of a soft sidewall. Like I said, I really don't want a tire that rolls over and plays dead, and gives me sloppy steering. These are the only tires that I am considering right now due to affordability. Any opinions, suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated, because I need to buy within the next week or two.

I got quoted close to $250 per tire on the Invo from Kal Tire
Way out of my price range. The only two cheap tires I could find were the Riken Raptor Zr ($600 out the door) and the Hercules Raptis WR-1 (about the same price as the Riken's)
