see them for my tiburon. A few tib owners I know have them. They like them. Tiburon owners in general dont know what good parts are though so i will not attest to any merits of these. Only that I have heard of them.

I have installed these on my RX-8... Spring rates are 10 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear. I was afraid they'd be too stiff but the valving on the shocks is EXCELLENT! I specified the higher rate (wanted 7 kg/mm but they only had the 8 available). I initially went with 2 turns up from full soft in the front, and 2 turns up from full soft in the rear (maximum is 4 turns front or rear). Two turns is, IMHO, just a little too stiff for the street, but when the freeway got smooth, like a track, the control was fantastic!

Nick at K-Sport (Autoline Industries in Phoenix, AZ) was helpful and knowledgeable about his product when I called with questions. I may try the 5 kg/mm spring at a later point if I decide I want more rear grip. They've chosen these rates because they don't make anti-sway bars, so in typical race car fashion all of the body control is done with the spring rate. Whatever. It works...

I'm making no claims at this point about overall durability, but they looked and felt very solid (comparable to Zeal Function in fit and finish) with quality locking rings and nice machining. No loose fitting threads like some extremely cheap kits I've seen. Supplied with 4 adjustment ***** so you can leave them in place if you like. The fronts can be adjusted (barely) with the OEM strut bar in the car, the rears, of course, cannot be.

After I finish settling the suspension (loosening and tightening the control arm bolts I'll reset the ride height (I think I need to go a little lower both front and rear) and shoot some photos. I'm very happy so far though!

BTW-the picture shown above is NOT for the RX-8. Both front and rear are substantially different.

Hi PhotoMunkey,

Does yours comes with rear top mounts? I just received mine and doesn't come with rear top mount. Their website clearly stated that it comes with front and rear top mounts. I know I can use the factory mounts but 1 of the reason I get this coilover rather than tokico and RB springs is I can swap the whole assembly easily. I guess I have to buy an extra sets of rear top mounts from the dealer(I hope they are not ridiculusly expensive).

Also how do you know if you have the 8k springs? I don't see any label or markings on the springs itself.

Please post some pics of the coilover if you have some.

thanks,

Terence

It doesn't come with the rear top mounts. They have to be removed from the stock assemblies, which really doesn't take long to do. You do need spring compressors to do it though.

I have some photos, but they're going into S3 magazine as soon as I can get the story done comparing Eibach springs/stock shocks to the K-Sport package (basic coil-overs). They're paying for the story so they get first dibs on the photos.

im pretty sure you should be able to adjust them before putting them in place... if they cant at least be adjusted then that sucks.

Well I looked further and am pretty sure they are adjustable rears, but I think what he is saying is that once they are on its impossible to adjust them becuase you cant get to them. If thats the case then I cant believe they haven't made a tool yet to allow you to adjust them. I know at least one manufacturer that has and I wouldnt be buying adjustable coilovers that dont let me adjust them once installed.

You can't get a tool into the strut cavity when they're installed. The shock would have to be an inverted mount design, or have an attached adjustment cable like the Teins do. That's the only way. I can live with it this way because once they're set, how often do you really need to adjust them?

Every time you go from the street to the track. Why else would you need adjustable struts?

They sell an extension that connects to the rears so you dont have to remove all the trunk lining to get to it..
