Just ordered a pair of Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1's !

I'm coming up on inspection time ... and I was shocked to look at my rear tires and see some racing slicks! I've completly cooked my rear S-03's in 10k miles! There is still tread depth on the shoulders so I assume i should drop my daily air pressure a bit. (owners manual says 35 ... I run about 33 ) ?

I ordered in a pair of Direzza Z1's ... I'm really excited to check this tire out.

It's also the 1st time I'll be trying the 245/40/18 size. I'm going to replace the rears first.. then move them to the front and put a new set on the rear closer to AXing season.

I also got a great deal on them from a local tire place (CJ's) that rotates for free and fills w/ nitrogen. ... So I suppose I'll need to really keep after my tires now if I expect them to last a bit longer.

You will love those tires. I used them on my Corolla and I loved them. They are super grippy and don't really need to be heated up to enjoy them -- though they're better when they're warm. They also ride pretty smooth too.

I swap between Z1's and S-03's for track and street. The Z1 has a bit more grip than the S-03 with much stiffer sidewalls. Great tire.

Well I got them installed last night ... these things are fierce looking... big fat tread blocks huge shoulder blocks center seems very stiff ... should be a wayy better AX tire than the s-03 (maybe) I'll see. I'll try and post some pic's 'cause they definetly look meaner on the car than they did on the web.

BTW .. If your around Reading / Philly ... Greg at CJ's (birdsboro) really hooked me up. Cheaper than tire rack- all said and done! PM me and i'll let ya know.

I'm also considering these, what kind of life should I expect from them in non-competition driving?
