Just ordered BFG G-Force Sports

I just went to Discount Tire and ordered these in 245/40-18's and should have them put on the car in the next couple weeks. I have not seen a review on this board about this particular tire, so when I get them on and play some with them I will let everyone know what I think of them. They matched the tirerack price of $130 a piece.

I think the wider tire is going to look real good on my black 8.

Well, I got them installed today and here what I think of them so far on 30 miles. They are much quieter than the stock tires, seem to be softer, and I am not sure if it is the increased width or the tires themselves but the grip seems to be better on dry pavement. The looks are great, these tires look very aggressive and the stance of the car with 245's installed is very nice, the way it should have came from the factory. I will try to let everyone know how they do in the rain, I do know that the stock tires were getting very twitchy in the rain there at the end of their lives. I will also try to find someone with a camera to get some good pictures up. But for now here is a link to them on tirerack.

The car doesn't seem to roll as easily now, and taking off from the line it seems to grip more but that could just be the new-ness of the tires. Not sure how to tell about the weight.

I've got 500 miles on mine, and I'm happy with them. Very quiet in comparison to the worn down OEM's. Handle nice, grip nice. Have found that they are a little slick in the rain at 40 degrees. Any summer tire will be, I'd imagine. Two thumbs up, for a $135 tire.

Just an update, done about 150 miles on tires now and they are still very nice and I like them much more than the stock Bridgestones. The wet traction is not bad, you can still spin them if you try hard enough but they do very well in the rain. I believe the sidewalls are a little softer than stock to cushion the ride a little and keep things quiet. I did put a measuring tape along the tire to see how wide they were and they are between 8.5 and 9 inches wide, they look great from behind, nice wide stance with aggressive tread. So far I would recommend this tire to anyone that asks, they are pretty good for a low price.

I got a little over 11k out of the stock tires, I think these will last hopefully twice as long since they have a treadwear rating of 340.

11k?!? I got over 30k with my stockers, but no track time. You think I can get 60k out of them? Na, I'll be happy with 30k again.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow afternoon. Gotta get rid of the post-wash rusty rotors.

Yea only 11k, a lot of tire wear is dependent on what the roads are made out of in the region you live in. Apparently NC has some very course roads.

TireRack tells me 156 for each tire, for the BFG - GeForce T/A KDW2. I wasn't aware that we could get the GeForce Sports for our car. When did you get purchase these? How did you get them for 130? Everytime I ever went to TireRack I'd get a price close to 200 dollars and the GeForce Sports were never available because as far as I know it's a product line designed for sport compacts and not-so sporty coupe's like the civic.

Skythe: Check HERE $135, AND FREE GROUND SHIPPING!!! Tirerack and Tiresavings had them for $130 and $129 respectfully, but charged $50 and $70 for shipping.

Also, take a look at this info sheet on the tire.

Thank you sir for the info. I would love to go back to the G Force line. I had them on my 3G Eclipse before I traded her in for Melissa. I love these tires for the price and quality. Great traction in the corners...oh so very quiet when banking at high speeds, letting you know that you should be going faster. I was thinking that the Sport line was unavailable for the 8, although they have sizes available all the way down to 14 inch wheels. I shoulda put 2 and 2 together, but instead of getting 4. I got 5.

After researching, I'm going to order these tires on Monday in 245/40-18, which seems to be the size of choice in the forum. Not sure of the price yet but seeing as my dad works for Michelin I'm hoping he will get me a pretty hefty discount. I will let you all know what I think when I get them installed. A quick question though; should I get the alignment checked when I put them on or just get them balanced? Thanks a lot.

Always get the alignment, and be sure to get them balanced. You don't want to be wasting the money you spent on your tires by not proctecting your investment.

Got them installed today in 245/40/ZR18, here are my first impressions. First of all, WOW, they are a lot quiter than the OEMs. Very smooth too. Not too sure about handling yet, I've only had a chance to drive them on the freeway, not a lot of turns. Steering response doesnt seem quite as sharp, but I guess that comes from the wider tires. As soon as I'm back home on Friday, I'm going straight to my favorite mountain road!! I'll post an update soon. So far I'm happy with the purchase.
