Just bought my first RX-8, need help

Just bought a '05 Rx-8 wed. night and found out that it doesnt come with a spare tire. Dealership wants to charge me close to $600 for the kit, too much for a donut. I was wondering, what other mazda's have the same bolt pattern as the 05 Rx-8's? I can just go to a junk yard and pull one out of a trunk and throw it in mine for long trips. Thanks!

the bolt pattern is very common. 5x114.3. Finding one that will fit size wise is another issue all together. I don't know if the spare kit for the 8 is shared with any other mazda. You'll need something tall enough to have at least close to the same height as the standard wheel and tire, and it will have to clear the brake calipers in the front.

Check the for sale section. Spare tire kits come up on there every so often. It does take up a bit of space in the trunk though.

get a puncture repair kit (you should have a 12v pump, don't use the fix a flat goop), and get AAA for a tow in case it's serious tire damage
